| just stopping by on the way to whistler and stopped at browning for about 2and a half hours. caught 2 small ( about 15cm!!) then three normal sized rainbow (about 20-30cm). All around a nice little lake to stop by and just relax. I have fished this lake many times before and have had most sucess in the early morning when the park opens. Also this is when the water is most calm and it is easiest to fish the bobboer near the drop off at the south end of the lake as there is ussually wind that comes from the north. Besides the list above of spratleys and worms I have used small lures like panther martins (with worms is better than no worms) and had a little bit of sucess. I find that the bigger fish chase those lures. Also my friend said that he has had much sucess with a leech off his float tube catching his biggest ever rainbow there at a nice size of 2.5 lbs. All in all this little lake has the potential to hold many suprises but if i were you i wouldn't expect anything bigger than 30cm. Also a nice little lake close to it is petgill lake which is a hike in and isn't really worth the hike unless you can carry a float tube like me and my friend did (same friend mentioned above). We fished spratleys and saw a nice hatch of caddisflies and we caught a nice couple of fish (with the spratleys). Then we switched to bodiless caddises and had good sucess with those(in october as well). Leeches are the main flies on both lakes which catch the most fish and the biggest fish.
