| I was touring the backroads with my fishing buddy and we decided to stop off at Weaver lake around noon. We scrounged up some pocket change to rent a frog boat from what I like to call the Weaver Lake welcoming commitee ($25 will get you 6 hrs). There was a lot of Damsel fly adults on the lake but it was slow fishing, it was noon and 34c after all. Some guys caught a couple of 35cm rainbows on burgundy/red leeches. There's talk of some 24 inchers coming out of Weaver this year. A sinking line with some damsel fly nymphs worked from the drop offs towards the shore should produce results. A few people had mentioned to us that a bunch of yahoos showed up on saturday to camp overnight, You know with the boom boxes working overtime into the wee hours. As for us we headed to the Skagit to scope it out but thats for another report.
