| Hit the water around 8am using a pumpkinhead pattern, had one bite on that. After about an hour or two I switched over to a black woolly bugger and as I was letting my line out I had a fish on. Good little fighter on the new 5wt fly rod, as I was bringing it in the bald eagle watching up in the trees came swooping down in an attempt to take the fish but he ended up aborting which was pretty cool to see. I had quite a few bites throughout the day, really light ones which were impossible to hook into. My buddy had about 3 or 4 fish on, all around 10-12 inches on a small pink sparkly leech pattern. Most of the action was along the west side of the lake just off the shoreline where it drops off into deeper water.
