| Started fishing from the right of the boat launch with a sliding weight placed behind a swivel and about 2 1/2 feet of leader with powerbait or mallows becuase I heard the fish there are taking the bait and spitting it out if they feel resistance (float). Had no luck with this setup so I headed to the dock and talked to a gentleman who fishes there regularly and he was using a simple float setup with about 3 ft of line down from the float and 3 small split shots spaced out along the line. After switching to this setup caught 3 10-12" rainbows, all off the left side of the dock casting to about 10 ft from shore. The key to fishing the dock for me was to move around from side to side if the fishing is slow for more than 30-45 mins. Caught more fish in shallow water than off the deeper end of the dock. Talking to some of the guys it seems that the bass haven't become very active yet.
