| Took the kids out today and we had some double headers trolling flies as well as casting. We caught two while setting up the second rod after just leaving the boat launch.. Fish were all biting 150 feet or more from shore and we caught a mixed bag of rainbow and kokanee trolling. Then we caught a 2-3 pike minnow I am assuming.. Green with larger scales and a large eye. It was first time catching one and it actually spooled the galvin into backing. Was the best fish of the day.
Sadly our last fish we caught was a 12 inch rainbow with shore fishermans gear in its gullet. I was able to cut the line off the hook so it wasnt dragging 3 feet of floro and a swivel behind it. I released it in hope its aggressive feeding would give it a few more weeks before some food fisher snagged it up.
In the evening I would use a dry line and cast in the spots i marked. The water is teaming with surface risers taking small chronomids.
