Hi Guys, My name is Nat im from sydney Australia. I am flying into vancouver in mid febuary to spend some time with my brother who is snowboarding in vernon. I am a very keen fisherman and only have a couple of days in vancouver so i was seeing if anyone was keen enough to take me salmon fishing in return i will offer you a fishing trip if you ever come to sydney. I would try myself but dot have too much time to waist this trip. If it is easy enough for me to find a nice river and throw a few lures please let me know some local knowledge and I will give t a go. Thanks Nat

if you go to vernon first get any tackle there. either go to surplus herbies right in town or to kencraft which is out of town a bit. these stores, especially kencraft , will beat any store in vancouver i think for prices and they have a great selection as well. for fishing i'd suggest the vedder river as per mr grey1's suggestion. maybe even splurge and hire a guide for a day. i am not sure what they charge but if only going for a day they might supply the equipment and the days fishing for about what you'd spend in equipment. good luck .

You could get in touch with the guys at Pacific Angler on West Broadway if you are going to be staying in the general Vancouver area (www.pacificangler.ca), or if you're staying in the Fraser Valley area, there is Freds Custom Tackle. Richmond has Barry's Bait and Tackle.
Lots of options for picking up some gear.
