Hey everyone im pretty new to ice fishing this will be my second year also starting late last year. i was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers and tips i would love to see some photos of the type of hook or rigs everyone uses and some baits that will work. I can travel and live in kelowna but can not get to any lakes that have not been plowed up to  any ideas thanks everyone

there are lots of lakes around kelowna you can access. mccullogh is one i often hear mentioned. all you need is a glow hook or small jig with meal worms or maggots or some of the artificial stuff. you can use a small flasher a foot above the glow hook . for trout i usually stick to shallow water, sometimes only 3 ft deep. i've had better luck at first light. if you get one, get your hook back in there right away as you often will catch a bunch in real short order after an hour without a bite.
one thing to keep in mind is ice fishing should be treated as a meat fishery. if you are going to release a fish do so at the hole in the water. if you flip it up on the ice then release it , it is guaranteed to die. lifting it up to hold onto to then release is also deadly for them. just catch your limit and go home !
