Hello,I got me an Okuma Avenger ABF40 spinning reel a couple of months ago. I'm planning to do pier fishing at ambleside with it. bottomfish, flatties and mudsharks. gonna sling lures for the salmon at ambleside jetties.
Plus I would like to get back into bar fishing on the Fraser and Pitt rivers. So...I am in the hunt for a rod that can do all that.

My old set up that could do that is a Shimano Baitrunner 4500 spinning reel mated to an 9' quantum Optix medium spinning rod. Line waight 10-25lbs. Lure waight 1/2 to 4 oz.

However I find my old set up is just a touch too heavy.

Sorry, my mistake! It's a Okuma abf 50 baitfeeder reel.
10-12-15 lbs line rating.
