I am interested in doing some ice fishing, i havent ever done it before, but it looks like great fun, i live in delta, does anyone know the closest ice fishing (thats worth the drive), i have seen people on silver lake hope when its frozen over, and thought maybe trout lake harrison? or whistler alta? any advice on where to go/techniques would be awsome!!

Never ice fished on alta, but have done plenty of boat fishing.... never disappoints. Just remember it is c and r there.

chris , even up in the okanagan you have to get up higher. why not try a weekend at tunkwa or something like that. check out their website under tunkwa lake resort. some great pictures. i imagine the lakes by the old toll booth would be frozen but closer to vancouver is very doubtful.

thanks for the information guys! appreciate it, i have heard of people fishing blackwater in pemberton, but maybe thats a little later on in the season, im sure there are a decent number of lakes at higher elevations on logging roads to ice fish but id be worried about getting stuck even though i do have a 4x4 but those trails to the smaller lakes are generally not looked after.
