how are the chinooks running in the fraser this week?anyone having any luck. i was thinking around herrling/cheam view. thanks dudes.

BP, were you using barbless hooks? Thats why you probably lost it. Its great to use the barbless for the sake of the fish, but man is it frustrating losing them when it takes like 3 hours to even get one.

Well yes, of course. You HAVE to use barbless hooks, its the law. I think its a good one. ( not that I always obey the law- speeding,drinking in public, ect) Usually if you keep tight-lines I think you can have a pretty good chance. But that fish earned its freedom. BP

and rumour has it fisheries has a '0 tolerance' with anything this year...i've talked to a couple guides who has seen some nasty fines being handed out for relatively minor infractions including barbs on the hook...

barbless hooks should not even be an issue. how far back has it been since treble hooks were banned in the fraser. i find barbed hooks has more mortality rate for fish because of the extra stress it causes when thrusting the hook out and releasing fish. Were okay out here in the west but in the east,a.k.a ontario...they would be in an uproar if only single barbless hooks were permitted on their lures!!!!!!
