Ross, how'd you make out at weaver. Im planning a trip up there in July for a few days and would like to know how it is up there.
Thanx in advance
Ross

well we had the whole lake to ourselves since it was a Monday and fishing was good. Lots of strikes. I brought in 10 . Dad got 1. He was using an old wedding band and they kept spitting the hooks. We could see them on his line and then they would spit the hook and swim away. We were using a small lake troll with a red wedding band and worms. I grow my own, red wriglers. Power Bait did not seem to be effective. Stay in the first part of the lake trolling the far shore off to the right.

I went to weaver yesterday just to check out the lake for the upcomming camping trip im doing in July. WoW what a nice place. I was shocked by the scenery. The lake is pretty big too, but just perfect in a 12 ' w/ a 9.9. We tried fishing but with no luck. I think I had a couple bits but it could have been the weeds. We tried trolling and spin castn with spinners and spoons & worms but nothing. There were a few boats out there aswell but it didnt look like they had any action either. I just looked like a beuty of a day just relaxing.
The water was really high probably due to all that fast melting snow. Oh yeah the boat launch. ha ha what a P,O,S. All you guys with bigger wider boats can forget about getting your boat into this lake unless you bring along a constuction crew with you and widen that boat launch. Anyway looking forward to July.

Hey Troutfisher thats what I like about the Lake no big boats roaring aroud. Yeah the boat launch is a little messed up but once you get use to it its ok. When you go up try trolling a red doc spratley around the far side of the island. I have had good luck up at the far end around the Island with red docs.

Ross, Whats a red doc? Please excuse my inexperiance with this.
Ross

A red Doc Spratley is a fly. A good alround attractor type fly. Doc Spratleys come in many colors. Red one seem to work well on Weaver.

Thnx ross, but I dont fly fish just yet. I hope to try it out someday though.
Cheers
