Hey guys. I'm thinking of trying the brownsville bar for salmon this weekend. Will spin casting lures work? If so what lure do you suggest? Help needed thanks!

No not really ...bar fishing with roe works though .!! During pink season casting lures work if the water clarity is good .! I fish Brownsville a lot come down try some roe fishing lotsa jacks .!

opportunity for chum and coho .
use a 3 or 4 ounce triangle weight and have a leader or double leader split with a big chunk of roe . bright cured orange roe will work best so the fish can actually see it . throw it out before it hits the drop off reel in to make the line tight and wait !
caught a couple 4 pound coho one day ( both wilds ) but chum will attack the roe , but you got to be very quick with the chum or else they will spit it out , coho will swallow it . chum numbers are great so brownsville bar is a great choice right now

how does one bar fish. 3 way swivel line to rod/line to weight/leader? Then cast out and let sit and wait?

That's how I do it in the lower tidal portion of the Fraser.

If the current is running pretty good and I have to use a weight in the 12 to 18 ounce range then I'll use a bar rig with a spin-n-glow etc etc from shore, or plunk large spoons or spinners off my boat.
