has anyone caught any white springs or anything worth keeping on the vedder this year or is it still to early
bently

There's absolutely no fish in there worth catching right now, go find another river.:{

^^ that one gave me a good laugh.

Ive got some red springs so far in the vedder. but they are pretty much done now. Just put in some time at the river soon and you will find out whats all in there, or the day they do come into that river.

Was out in the canal last night for a couple of hours. It's still dead. Don't care though as at least I got out on the river. Current is a little fast still, but the water's warm. Even though I know there's no fish yet, it was still a fantastic night to be on the river and get used to casting my new Shimano Convergence rod.

Well worth it for sure!

the springs that are running in the fraser right now.. are they fraser bound and skip the vedder? I'm guessing the vedder bound springs are done now.
cagey

correct for the most part. there could be the odd one turn into the vedder but mostly they by-pass the vedder until later.

Yeah I was gonna say cause one week I caught a red spring then the next week I went out twice and had 3 fish jump the hole day so I kinda thought they were done a lot of guys fly fishing for trout but that was it when do they usually start to run again
MoeJKU

Jack springs should be coming in any time now. Followed by the bigger ones. Early coho are slowy starting to show up as well as they like to come in sometimes with jacks. Caught 3 red springs the other week, but havn't been back since. Just waiting for the run to start again, to make the drive there and back worth it.

Are you finding the fish higher up or in the canal?
MoeJKU

I found the reds up higher in the river, but that was 2 weeks ago. There might be a few but they are all ready to spawn now. I will be going to the canal soon to try my luck.
Red Wool

Yeah I was thinking of heading to the canal on Monday as well, and just river hop. Just to enjoy the day. Don't care if I catch anything as I know it's early. But it's a good time to start checking out the old spots to see if the holes are still fishable. Thanks for the update!

How's the canal looking these days? It's a 3 hour drive for me so any info would be nice. Any Coho moving in yet?
Jeep'n'fish

The canal is LOW, no fish are coming up yet, it is producing at the mouth, but we will need a good rain before the fish will start moving in in any numbers.
