Chrisc54	Posted: 7/27/2012 10:32:41 PM Reply just learning to troll with the downrigger and noticed my 7 foot downrigger rod had a big bend in it and someone told me theres a way to adjust how much bend youll get by where you put the release clip...anyone know how? thanks for the help
bently	Posted: 7/28/2012 12:34:40 AM Reply You can make sure your the drag on your reel is tight enough to not spin on you and wind in until the rod bends down more, just don't go too much or you'll trip the release. If you want it to not be bent as much just let out a little bit of line until you see it where you want it, as long as you don't have a bunch of slack line out your fine.
prunehands	Posted: 7/28/2012 6:43:53 AM Reply Don't worry about too much bend in the rod.You want the line tight.It will be a bit of a learning curve figuring how much before your clip pops.The tighter it is,the less slack you need to wind before you can get a hook set.It's also easier to pop the clip for the times you get a fish that doesn't pop the clip.
