The drive from Darke Lake was certainly a 4x4 and then that a bit rough. But what a pleasant lake. A few good bites for me 4 good fish for my buddy.

But before I could get into my catching hour the weather sounded a few ominous cracks of lightening and surrounded us with peals of thunder.

We were just coming out of the water when the heavens opened, and believe me, the marble sized hail really hurts.

The temperature went down to 13C in an instant. We took the road back to Summerland which was much easier, but we kept in 4wd for the decent as it was awash with rain and could be slippery. Definitely OK for a 2wd with care.
Am I going back, you betcha.

Limit is 5 of course, I know that but for two it is 2x5 (that is for the trolls).
We let a few small ones go and gave one to the loon. We also left early, time was against us, but we could have continued.
Both of us started trolling sinking lines and it was slow but then the wind died down and they began rising in force. So a dry line and a black fly was irresistible.
