Topic: Allendale and fishing is good |

Just had the best day for a while. Disappointed at Darke, Osprey and Garnet, we took more in weight at Allendale than these other lakes.
It was not the water temperature at 22F, nor the air at 28+C, nor the bright sunshine, all of which typically do not make fishing good.
But look at the fish, good healthy bows up to 17" in length.

Way to go! Sounds like a good time. What's the access to Allendale like? Can a car make it or do you need a truck/4x4?

Thank you guys, patience and persistence always, followed by a bit of luck.
Allendale access is a bit tough for a car but not impossible, 2 wheel drive truck no problem. Watch for deep ruts in the shade of the trees.

Nice job Mrjeff!! Great looking fish ,were they caught on flies or gear ?

Hey spooner - flies - and they were not fussy, you had to have the right spot, right presentation and the right time of day. The biggest was caught on the smallest fly, size 12 hook.

Ya , they can be fickle buggers . Best to change it up a bit and try to zero in on whats hot...
Any time i can get out from behind my desk and into the great outdoors is a good day in my books ,fish is just a bonus
