I will be visiting my brother this weekend or next in Mission. We usually do some fishing along the Fraser / Hatzic slough. Seems it is a bad time for there though so I was wondering what lake would be a good one to go bring a our kanew out to for a day. I was thinking maybe stave because the trout from what I read are bigger there. Anyone know of a good lake or river close to Mission?

Rolley Lake is great fishing right now and easy to get to.

which one is closer and better for catching bring-home-to-eat fish? keep i mind we have a kanew so we can fish the entire lake

canoe.....not kanew. go to rolley, it will be up your alley for sure.

Rolley it is! I guess It's time to switch up my Fraser bar rig setup then haha. Should I use those little fuzzy bug looking lures with a weight a foot up from it and just cast reel cast reel? Maybe try some small spinners/spoons?

You can cast any of those or troll them.

Didn't catch anything accept a small cat fish I think it was. Went to Rolley with a canoe from 8am-6pm all day tried fishing with a pink /silver wedding band, a blue fox, a silver floater, worms, trolling casting from shore everything! My brother caught 4 small trout all at around 1pm and let them go. :S Gunna go to the Hatzic slough Tomorrow (techincally today) and try our luck

Maybe one of mrjeff-pofoni's cold fronts came through or the moon wasn't right...lol. Did you try trolling a fly (one of those fuzzy bug looking lures)? You don't always need a weight when fishing, sometimes the topwater produces more fish.
