Hi guys I am going to gold river Nootka sound fishing. I am wondering how can I catch salmon and halibut, ling, rock fish there. Where are some good spots and what methods should I use to catch these fish. Also I would like to catch halibut. I have never fishing for these types of fish in the ocean and this will be my first time. I have a deep v 18ft boat and I have a downrigger, however I don't know how to use it lol.
Any help and tips would be appreciated.

Hi Ivan; go to www.salmonuniversity.com
They cover Nootka sound in the BC section, including where to go and fish etc. The site also has good articles and online courses for all methods of salmon and halibut fishing. There is a bit there on ling cod as well. It should answer all your questions pretty good. I'm hoping to get a bigger boat soon so I can do stuff like that myself, I don't venture too far out in the saltwater with my 12 footer lol. Good luck!
