The coquitlam river runs north to south through coquitlam and port coquitlam. Drive out there along lougheed and you will have to cross it when you get to poco. Park at the river near Kingsway and walk around. Fish and try it out. You wont catch much because there are very few fish in there, and its catch and release. Good luck.

That river needs a good cleaning so if you stumble across an old shopping cart, pull it out.

Good luck

i think there is going to be a coquitlam river clean up day sometime in early april...anyone in to help out?

I think i'll be able to get some more details later today

yeah it was a nice river once. i think there is a gravel pit up river that produces a lot of dust and debris during the summer months which causes the river to discolor...close that off and were halfway to solving that rivers problems....silt buries eggs!

i totally agree with you El-nino2010... Its been there a long time too...

I heard the Kwuekuitlam First Nations have successfully got the ok on trying to get Sockeye running up the Coquitlam river again. The dam in the watershed is an earthdam and was built in the 20's i think... so no fish ladder. Now all they have to do is convince Hydro to construct a new dam. Which shouldnt be to hard 'cause i hear it's in need of replacement. Maybe they should use some of that surplus money they made off the US last year or the year before and build one...

wouldnt that be nice to see some socks runnin up there again... for me anyways, im in walking distance

I live in the tri cities and would love to see some sockeye in that river. Another big problem on that river is all the homeless people living under the bridges along that river poluting it with all there pissin and crapin.

cool I fish the coq. river often nothing like backyard fishing!! I have caught lots of dollies and some cutties and also some small rainbows which should be decent size for this year , I am totally into the clean up but not into giving up my spots there are even some steelhead in there I would trade some spots if I could anyone know a good float-tube lake besides sayers or buntzen??

christo try sasmat lake lots of stocked rainbows in there. I have found that a medium sized black leach works best.
