Hi folks, can you help m e, I just got a new Sedge reel th eon ewith the extra two spools but am having a nasty time with it as the drag works against me. I am right handed and the drag free wheels as the line is going out???? is there a way to make the drag work the other way????? Thanks

Yes the line is on the reel properly and the handles are on the right hand side but the drag is on as you real the line back on to the spool ???? How can I change the drag to the line out not line in rotation

I assume you meant a "Sage" fly reel.
As MrGrey1 indicated: you have the line and backing the wrong way on the spool. Rewind the line the correct way on the spool for a "left hand" retrieve (handles on the left side), then follow the instructions for reversing the whole spool for a right hand retrieve at;

before you unspool and re-spool,check to see if there is a bearing/cog assembly that can be slipped off the spindle,flipped and slid back on.a few of cartridge reels are set up this way.

NO! The OP stated he has a SEDGE reel not a Sage. Check the instruction sheet that came with the reel, the info should be there on how to change to the opposite direction for the drag. I had a couple of those reels and I think you removed the spool and there was a small clutch that you had to flip over.

Before stripping off all your line and backing, check to see if the roller bearing/clutch is set up for right hand retrieve, and if it is, a lot of times you can simply just pop it off and flip it, and then put the spool/cartridge back on.
A lot of fly reels are set up one way or another out of the box/factory and can be changed from right to left fairly quickly and easily.
