Thanks For The Help..

the first thing you should do is check your regs.
salmon are closed . trout are open subject to restrictions found in the regs.
when you find something open in the regs ask how the fishing is or ask which of 3 or 4 places that are open would be the best, etc. your question is far to wide open !
fishgutz

maybe try some of the local lakes for stocked trout .mill lake abby, green timbers surrey, como ,lafarge coquitlam, rice lake n,van, mike ,whonnock lake m,ridge, deer lake bby.check with gofishbc for more info.

I've said it before, if you can post on here you are more than capable of looking up the regulations online!!! Waiting for a store to get them in is a POOR EXCUSE!

stealhead are not salmon. i guess there might be some rivers some place with some kind of salmon open but i doubt there are any fish in those rivers now. good advice to try the many lower mainland lakes that are stocked and open !and yes, the regs are online and are uptodate unlike the hard copy.

@cutfisher, this site is to help people out with information and questions they have, so dont turn your nose up at people

@cagey, why to fish for steelhead do you not only need a steelhead tag on your license, but a non-tidal salmon tag as well? HMMMMMMMMM
Fish'n BC

Steelhead are listed under "Trout" in the BC Sport Fishing Guide. They are rainbow trout that spend a part of their life in the sea. Never heard of a non tidal salmon stamp being required to fish for steelhead, only a steelhead stamp.
Freshwater landlocked Sockeye salmon (Kokanee)are open and available to fish in lakes this time of year, and you don't need a salmon conservation surcharge stamp to fish for them.
