hey thanks for the reply. yeah I think it will make a good backup too. It's my first time using a level-wind, and haven't used it yet, so I haven't experienced any problems that require a backup reel. My rod though is made for bait casters (downrigger rod) and I don't do that much fishing so I'll see if anyone's interested for now
