ANYBODY SEE ANY PEOPLE TAKING THINGS OUT OF A GREY STATION WAGON UP NEAR THE RIVER RAFTING PLACE? MY LAPTOP, IPOD, CAMERA, TENT, SLEEPING BAGS, BBQ, CELL PHONES. MY HOME AWAY FROM HOME. IT'S ALL GONE. CLEANED OUT. ABOUT THE ONLY THING THEY LEFT ME WAS MY WORK SHOES AND MY PILLOW.

i am quite sure the stolen items would be covered by a homeowners policy or a tenants package if there was forced entry into the vehicle.
check with your agent/broker to be sure.........any problems post it here. i may be able to help (but only if you drop the capital letters!)

why would u leave ur laptop, camera and ipod in the car up there? when i park my car around there everything is taken out except the cooler. even the car registration is with me.

most intelligent post ever by the beak but negative as always. we do not all live our lives expecting the worst. stupid but we don't. instead of being your normal self, nreak down beak and say "that is too bad. it is a warning to everyone. do not leave anything in your vwhicle when fishing the vedder" .
by the way, i was suprised to hear you go fishing. why do you never tell of you exploits? never catch anything?

negative? how so? all i was pointing out is i take all my stuff out and wondering why he left his, maybe he didn't have a choice? why did he bring them in the first place? Curious is not negative.

THE AMOUNT OF STUFF THAT WAS STOLEN WEIGHS MORE THAN ME. MY HOME AWAY FROM HOME. NOBODY IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD BRING THAT MUCH STUFF ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE RIVER. WITH THEM. I FIGURED IT WOULD BE OKAY LOCKED UP AND OUT OF THE RAIN.
IN PAST YEARS I'VE CAUGHT A FAIR NUMBER OF FISH. THIS YEAR MY NEPHEW GOT MENENGITIS, MY GRAMPA DIED AND MY HOUSE HAD A FIRE ALL SINCE THE BEGINNING OF OCTOBER, SO I HAVE NOT BEEN OUT MUCH. NOW ALL MY STUFF GOT ROBBED. IF YOU REALLY MUST KNOW, I'VE CAUGHT THREE FISH THAT I WAS ABLE TO KEEP THIS YEAR. I GOT TWO UGLY SPRINGS AND A COHO THAT HAD A CHUNK MISSING OFF IT'S SIDE. NOT MUCH TO BRAG ABOUT.

yikes...poor guy. But you don't even say where this happened. "River rafting place" is generic. And BEAK is right. I was gonna post the same thing. Come on, you never leave stuff in your car when parked in places like that, or almost anywhere for that fact. If you really really have to, then put it in the trunk of your car (if you have one), and make sure no one sees you putting the stuff there.

Sorry to here about the break in and stolen items.
But i agree with lots above, never ever bring stuff to the river or area that is away from town. I have had my window smashed out before over loose change in the ashtray. I now don't even lock my doors in certain areas, i don't leave a single thing in my truck, it has an anti theft device which shuts off the power so worst case scenario someone cracks the ignition but 99% of the time their looking for items and not to steal your vehicle.
A friend of mine has a sign he sometimes leaves on his window, saying "doors unlocked please don't break my window, nothing of value in truck" Another buddy of mine went and purchased a gun case and he leaves it open unfolded across the dash board and has yet to have a problem since his last break in. Figures if someone see's this they might assume someone is around with a rifle/shotgun and deter them from breaking in.

I WAS CAMPING UP THE ROAD. THERE IS NOT A LOT TO DO WHEN IT GETS DARK AND IS RAINING BUT SIT IN THE TENT WITH A LAPTOP. I HAVE A STATION WAGON THAT WAS LOADED TO THE ROOF. NO TRUNK, JUST A LOT OF CARGO SPACE.
MAYBE IF YOU GUYS SEE A 7 FOOT TALL ORANGE MARMOT TENT (IT SAYS MARMOT ON THE FLY IN BIG LETTERS) SETUP SOMEWHERE, QUITE POSSIBLY WITH A GREEN AND WHITE CAMPER VAN WITH OUT OF TOWN PLATES, YOU COULD LET ME KNOW SO I CAN GO HAVE A LOOK OR LET THE CHILLIWACK RCMP KNOW TO CHECK IT OUT
