Ok I just want to be certain of what I caught. Not the best pics but not sure if this was a big rainbow or a Kokanee.
Thanks,
P.S Jones lake about a month ago. Was released back for another day. I only catch and release unless the rare occasion a fish bleeds out.

If you plan on releasing a fish...avoid putting hands in the gills.Nice fish.

What did you catch it on? How deep did you fish at?

Seriously?? WTF is wrong with you people. Coastal cutthroat trout. If you don't know what it is, release it. If you are releasing it, DON'T hold it up by its gills with gloves, because then you might as well put it out of its misery.
SERIOUSLY???

i would guess it is a cutty, as rainbows in that lake dont get that large. pps wearing a glove, and the way u are handling that fish, are big no no's. Releasing a fish u cant identify is a smart idea, however being handled so poorly that fish likley died. In the future remove the gloves, keep fish in the water, and grab fish from base of tail, and support the stomach.

Yeah , thats a cutthroat...Nice fish Maybe you should have kept it . Read the regs and learn to ID your catch before you fish!!!!

Ditto on learning to identify your catch!!! As far as your fish handling skills, they are non existent!!!!!!! You can bet your bottom dollar that fish is dead now.

I cant believe you would mis treat such a beautiful cutty. That fish is probably over 6 years old , one s that size are very rare. Good job on hurting the biggest cutt you will ever catch
