Topic: Buntzen Lake Fishing this weekend |

Hi all, I am heading up to buntzen lake this weekend and was wondering if there is anyone that has fished it recently?
I will be on a belly boat Fly fishing so any tips would be great. I am taking my nephews so I would like them to have a good fishing experience.

Had a great day fishing buntzen lake. I caught 3 bows and my nephew caught 3 as well. I used a green wooly bugger on semi sink line. I also used a fulling line with the same fly and it didn't work.

If you enjoy trolling with a sinking line out of your belly boat you might want to try Mike lake in Golden Ears park ( Maple Ridge ) or Grace lake up by Weaver lake Harrison Mills area. I had a great couple of days last week on these lakes. Took 9 fish at Mike and 9 fish at Grace.( Grace was better as the fish really fought hard not to get landed.)
I mainly troll a green Doc and an orange bead pumkin head on an sinking line.

Thanks for the info Bear. I will give mike lake a go. Do you think Mike Lake will be a good lake to fish begining of Dec? The wife is away so I can sneak another good few days fishing. If not what other lakes would be good?

Most lakes produce through the winter. It's just a matter of how cold it gets. If it's really cold the fishing slows down as the fish become dormant to conserve energy. However if you dangle bait in front of there face they will bite.Fish are always feeding, you just have to figure out where they are and what they want. I've been fishing at Sasamat on Dec 25th and got bites.I've been ice fishing up in Kamloops in December and caught fish on an eraser ( it was a bet ....and I won ! )
