yz, for chum you can either cast spoons such as crocs (bright colours work well) or float fish with some wool. i have found lime green works well but have had successwith almost any colour. chum are quite easy to catch and fight hard! have fun!!!

Nice. I guess ill see what its like when i get there. Dont think spoons will work for me cause the line is really heavy on my salmon rod.. Unless they like big spoons with just silver color ( used to be pink but faded away.. Never got a pink to bite it though). Heard they like small spoons and ill try green wool + float. See whos catching fish when you get there.

the stave river is very popular but the chum are in most rivers in the lower mainland so it depends where you live or can drive to. the harrison/chehalis river , the vedder river are good. also some bars on the fraser. one place that can be good is nicomen slough, east of mission. when i was a kid i caught lots on the allouette river and kanaka creek. it is just a matter of finding a spot that suits you. good luck !

Hey what do you mean by purple jigs? A weighed hook with a purple skirt? Or weighed hook + purple grub? Looks like I was doing the wrong thing. Thanks
