I had a good day on yellow lake and tried out my old outboard. It ran quite well and pushed my boat very well. The fuel mix at 20:1 did not cause any smoke but the carb needed adjusting. Direct drive, no neutral and no reverse, made it difficult to test in a bucket of water before taking it out on the lake. The carb needs some adjustment so after a while I shut it off and reverted to my minn kota. So back in the workshop for a carb overhaul.
I really took my fishing buddy back a few years and when I get it running perfectly well for fishing I will try it for a few hours.

I had one of those old Elgin's till it needed a repair for which parts are no longer available to fix it. I almost tossed it in the lake. instead I dropped it off at my old high school for them to tinker with. Also donated a RX2 so the auto class could see how rotary engines work. Ed
