CHILLIWACK – The body of a young fisherman who went missing in the Fraser River earlier this month has been located.
Twenty-four-year-old Christopher Vang of Abbotsford was swept away in the current while fishing in the Peg Leg area near McSween Road on September 12.
The extensive search following his disappearance turned up nothing.
On Tuesday, Vang’s body was found by a fisherman at the apex of the Fraser River near the Vedder River.
"This has obviously been very devastating for the Vang family and they are asking for privacy as this time," said Cst. Tracy Wolbeck of the RCMP.
The BC Coroners Office is now investigating.

Goddamn awful tragedy. From what I read he was not a very experienced fisherman. I got to say I don't think I could have pulled his body out like the fisherman did when they found it at the confluence of the vedder/fraser.
