Unless I've misread the announcment,gillnetters get a 2 hr opening on thurs.The panel meets again tommorow and the speculation is a sport opening for sockeye by the wknd.So far this is just a fun rumor.If it happens,don't expect a long run like last year.Get the hootchies and flashers out.

any idea what the quota per boat is this opening?

So when you say it's a "quota" fishery,you mean the fleet,not the boat or licence.It's not like they can lease x amount of fish or pounds like halibut or herring right?Like you say ,run size is a crap shoot.How can they decide the quota.And what about cash sales?I guess dfo or psc have a formula of some sort.
