Here is one of the easy carp dough bait which is very effective for Common, Crusian and Mirror Carp and you can make it at home.

Just made this bait except i used hot dog buns, because i bake my own bread and i added some flour to make it more thick. What size hook did you use and from float how long is the line to the hook. One more question is the are to fish close to your are good or is it just that one spot. Thanks Ivan

Hi Ivan,
Hot Dog Buns also good.
Remember, do not make the dough hard, it should be soft and sticky. The trick is to make the bait soft enough and not to make hard. If the bait is hard, most carp will spit it away easily and will not take it twice.
I mostly use #12 Hook when I float fish for Carp. Leader should be 3"-4" only attached to a very tiny swivel #16. Add small running weight to your main line. You have to adjust the float (sensitive and as small as possible) such a way that the bait just touch at the bottom.
Spring, Summer and Fall - most of the carps are near any weed bed where the water tends to be still and motionless. 4'-5' depth is ideal. If you find any submerge tree or log, fish right beside that.
I hope it will help you.
I am planning to make a video for the setup shortly.
Thank you.

Went out today and got skunked! tried every technique from bottom fishing to your exact float fishing technique. No fish jumping either.

Sorry to hear that. Carps are sometimes very frustrating. What I experience, they are active early morning between 7am-10am. Then slowly stop biting.
