looking for some good trout fishing in a river, anyone ever fished sumallo? i know skagits closed till june 30 so i wads wonderng about sumallo, or wading in at the mouth of bear creek at harrison?

I believe the sumallo is closed now and opens July first like the skagit. It is a great river to fish both fly and gear just remember there is a bait ban.I caught a nice trout in the summer on a silver spinner at the sumallo grove rest area. So if your looking for a place to start you could try over there.

the water would be really high right now with runoff wouldn't it?
i was reading an artile on the skagit and it suggests late summer. ( fishing british columbia website)

i have fished the sumallo before and had great success in the large pool right at the sumallo grove rest area. there was a family playing in the water so i made my way around to the other side and nailed 4 fish in about half an hour or so.
