Anyone been to Jones Lake yet ? Thinking about heading up there just wondering about the snow and water level.

Failure to Launch...
|
Was up at Jones on Sunday, water level is alright, not high but not low either, no snow. Roads not bad but a little ruff in some sections, seen lots of little cars up there so no problem tho. Fishing was good, chronomid fished for a while, had about 15 small rainbows. Trolled around with dock spratley and my "secret custom Jones leach i tie", couldnt keep em off with that like usual, fishing was excellent. Got a few cutties around the 16-22 inch mark as well.

suposed to heading there this weekend for a day. not sure sun or sat yet/....3rd attempt..maybe well make it this time

You had to drive out into the beach again to launch, i would not suggest going out there unless you have a 4x4, even with ours the ground felt real mushy and was spinning a little bit to get in and out. Tip for you...... fish the far end of the lake, caught all of ours near the opposite side end, seem to be schooling over there this year, also did some stomache pumps and every fish was full of blood worms, troll a black/red doc spratley on a full sink line and you will be rewarded every 5 minutes or so. Also please note your quotas/regulations when fishing at jones. 2 fish only and musy be over 40cm (15.8")
