monte is not listed so here is my report. as i waited for my buddy to show up i watched a boat across from the boat launch catch several koks. as we launched the boat they caught a couple more (using big gang trolls). i was full of confidence when 100yds from the launch my partner caught a gorgeous 1 1/2 lb kok on his red fly. it faught like crazy. we never had another bite in 4 hours . the boat across the lake quit catching them when we launched our boat. 3 other boats had nothing! it was gorgeous out but NO FISH!!! (for me at least!!) kerry

That sounds familiar, a lot like what we experience when we finally checked it out. Although nobody in our boat was catching, it was nasty and cold and my motor seemed to have a sincere wish to be tossed overboard. I was feeling really jealous yesterday that I had to go start repairing a rolled Jeep while you were out fishing. On the way over to the shop the g/f (Tanfish - recently joined) and I seriously considered grabbing the other car (which is packed to fish at a moment's notice) and joining you. I feel a little better about doing the responsible thing and working now, although it looks like that was the nice day of the week, so I am still not sure. :-S

It appears that there are fish to be had in Monte Lake at least :D

there was a fellow fishing from shore at the boatlaunch on the hwy. he was fishing with a bobber and worm. he said he had caught 10 trout the day before, same place and method. all were supposedly over a pound, 3 1/2 tops. there are definitely fish in there, just getting them to bite is the trick. good thing you were responsible, chaka!! (it was gorgeous though. never wore a jacket).

I think we saw the same guy. I was not close enough to see what he was fishing because we launched at the end near the FSR. But I would guess it was the same one and it was cold when we were there so he kept getting back into his old pickup to keep warm that day. I did not see anyone catching when we were there, but I was distracted a few times and might have missed that telltale flash.
