To the gentleman on the Vedder this weekend that gave my 9yr old daughter his fishing rod "twice" with a steelhead on. A very big thankyou!!! That made her weekend. Not something i expected to see.

did she land them? nice story. there are some nice people out there. it is so important to encourage young kids to enjoy the sport. better to have them fishing than doing b+e's or whatever.
the kind person, i am sure, has turned your girl into a fishergirl!

That's some good stuff and some good people. I experienced a bit of that this weekend with my little niece. Who'd have thought it would feel about as good as limiting out yourself...

it always feels better when someone discovers something new thanks to your help. helping a kid catch their first fish, or first salmon/steelhead is far more satisfying than catching it yourself. i remeber my first fish, duck, pheasant, deer , moose and elk like they were yesterday. (and thaat is a long memory!!).
i also will not forget my son's first fish ! we all need to remember how special this experience was. maybe handing off a rod to a little kid will help that kid learn the finer things in life ..........fighting a steelhead certainly ranks up there!
back to my question though. did she land them?
