Just wondering what to take with me, baggage limit means the kitchen sink stay's at home. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you MrGrey1 and it will be Ft Lauderdale, I have had a look at Anglins Fishing Pier and may book a boat trip. Not sure what kind of gear to take, and if to pack gear or hire it. Only ever fly fished Okanagan area.

Are you fly fishing or gear fishing?
Please say fly! Florida has some fun bonefishing, as well as some tarpon and barracuda, all which are unreal on the fly.
If not, a slip float and shrimp is another well known tactic for fishing snook in the Florida area.

I would love to catch some big fish and will do this off the pier. I will take with me what I can and buy there what I need, and leave the gear with my friends.
I will fly fish if I know where is good for this, having not fished any other way I can't say if this is my preferred method yet.

If you are planning on flyfishing, let me know. I have an issue of Flyfisherman Magazine that has an article on the many and unique Florida fisheries available.
