Mr Jeff, just out of curiosity, do you actually fish or just collect old fishing relics?
Had to ask because all you show on here are antiques and it got me wondering...

Thanks ChakaRaka for your observation. It may seem so but my location and age/health from doing anything much during the winter. But I will give you a little history. I never used to fish, if ever I did, like with my brother keen on fishing, but I was bad news so it never really exited me. Brought up in London UK I never really had fishing on my mind.
Then I moved to BC and whole new world opened up. A friend of said he was going fishing and I told him that to take me would be bad news. So he took me to buy rod/reel/line/lure and we went fishing and caught nothing!
This story I related to a group of friends and a complete stranger took me to fly fish. He supplied the gear and I caught the first fish, my first fish, that was 2009.
Since then I have got really hooked and really enjoy getting out of town, up onto a remote lake, and spending the day just fishin'. I now have 3 boats, a dozen or so rods, 100 reels mostly old, a bunch of vintage lures, and can't wait for the warmer weather.
I also do web site programming and am developing a site for registering/researching/buy&sell/ reels and will extend this to rods/lures/etc as time permits. (fishangels.com)
My fishing knowledge is expanding rapidly and with the help of fellow fisherman will become a top angler. The bottom line is "We are just trying to outsmart fish".

Well thanks for the background, that is interesting. I just wondered because you seemed to have an antique fishing gear fetish, now I know. Hey at least with you hoarding all that old stuff, sooner or later you will have to clear out the less precious items. Let me know when you get too many boats as I may need to purchase a cast-off one of these days (if I upgrade from my human powered canoe). Although my canoe is probably almost as old as I am, that would be my only fishing antique.
