I'm going with a buddy for a two day camping trip.
Neither one of us have gone for pike in that region, I actually haven't fished for pike in this country and my buddy has never fished for pike.
Have any of you guys been.
Do you know any good locations or a detailed website like this one but for alberta....
If you guys have gone, what kind of lures did you use, we will both be using spin caster reels for this trip. Gotta get some heavy duty line but not too sure on the lures. When I went before I've always used live lures, not sure if that is allowed...

You might want to look for something simular for Walleye.
Find a local tackle shop where you are going, ask for their advice as you spend some loonies.
Good luck, take some photos and post them when you get back.

yes it is barely december but where have you been. alberta has had some winter. in case you missed it, even vancouver was cold. elsewhere in bc it was minus 20 last week. read the post on ice fishing. all the lakes in the interior are frozen. some just aren't safe yet.unless you are ice fishing you had better postpone your trip until next spring/summer.

Put it this way my buddy will be out on Wabimun Lake this weekend which is a good Pike Lake 45mins west of Edmonton fishing the Hard water this weekend. If you want to fish open water for Pike try in the spring after ice off.I was out in Oct on Wabi and did okay chucking spoons.

thanks for the tips.
I did some research asked around and it does seem like we will have to wait.
Once the ice melts we will hit the road and will definitely post pictures of results.
Take it easy guys.
