i live near the tidal in maple ridge but ive never heard of any bull trout? fishingwithrod says they catch bull trout all the time, how come i dont... lol

You have to find them, they won't find you. I've had pretty good sucess fishing the tidal fraser this time of the year with spoons. Or big flies. The key is to keep moving till you find the fish. Just like steelhead fishing, once you find them they are very aggresive and will take a spoon no problem. Another way to catch them is bait on the bottom, if you are fishing this way be sure to use a large enough hook so the little ones don't swallow it and become injured. Fishing with rod has some good blogs on bull trout. I would look on his site and read what he ahs to say about areas and spoons. Very good info, after reading his posts/blogs i actually started catching them. lol

when you say you live near the tidal in m.r. I assume you mean the fraser right?

its good for pinks EVERYWHERE when they are running. Its impossible to not check them. They are fun on really light gear

If you live close to the haney warf you can go sturgeon fishing there, Thats one of the best spots on the lower fraser stergeon fishing its not uncomon for 6'-7'footers to be pulled in off that warf. good luck.
