Fishing the lower Fraser doesn't get any love on this website. Anybody have any luck or have any favorite spots? I've read about spots in Richond, thought I might give them a try. Thoughts?

FWR has some good write ups on tidal Fraser bar fishing. I am going to try it out tomorrow after work at Brownsville and the weekend as well if I get time.

Watch your tides, nice to find bars that have a fast drop off so the fish are more likely to be within casting range. Find most salmon are in the south arm, but that could just be a coincidence. Patience is key!

Ya, FWR is what gave me the idea of trying that part of the Fraser. Dump bar gets a good write-up on his website. Bently: congrats on your catch. FWR stresses that the best time to fish is within the two hours leading up to high tide, do you guys find this true? I also was going to try Roe on a bar rig. I read that on this part of the Fraser you are allowed two hooks per rod. Is this true? When I moved from Ontario to here, I threw away my walleye bar rigs which have two hooks on them. I thought they were illegal here. If it's legal, I guess I should have kept them, or maybe I'll get some more at wal-mart. Thanks for the ideas.

I went out Sunday afternoon just before high tide w/ no luck. Here's where we were

I think it's Dump Bar.
Didn't catch anything; however, spent half of my time figuring out roe loops.

Just found this forum. I fished the dump in Richmond a few couple years ago and had good success catching dollies in the spring. I used to catch coho about half way up between the pump house and the upper fence. There used to be a sunken steel pipe that lays from the beach out. Submerged at high tide. If you know where it is fish just below it, the water seems to back eddy a little.

Has anyone ever tried off the south end of Gilbert Rd in Richmond ? On the down river side of the pump house. On a half low water I've seen a nice sandy beach. In the late spring I watched a couple of guys catch sturgeon there. Just curious!
