Topic: Quesnel Lake/ Keno Lake |

Hey guys,
So a few weeks ago I went up to Quesnel Lake with a friend to just get out of Vancouver. I just wanted to say that the road trip is pretty awesome, and the fishing wasn't bad for summer. This place is kind of a bitch to get to, so nobody really goes there, which is a plus in my eyes.
We left at 2am and got there at 10am, and set up "base" by the lake. 4WD required or at least strongly recommended to get there. Now this lake is known for the trophy sized rainbows and dollys, but you definitely need a decent sized boat to get anything respectable. That being said, we only had an inflatable boat which didn't really help. Instead we went fishing at a nearby lake called, Keno Lake.
Keno lake is more fun than anything. Trolling around with a wedding band produced a couple bows, which were about a pound or less. Every now and then I herd you get some decent sized bows that go out to 3-6 pounds. Make sure you troll around the island with one tree on it, where all the weeds are. You seem to get a few bites around there.(shown above)
All in all, it was a great get away. Miles away from civilization and all the commotion of the cities. Just wanted to share if anyone was thinking of planning a trip.
ps. there were a few bear sightings which was kind of cool

Thanks alot for the report andrevan, I fish Horsefly Lake alot in the summer months, ive always thought of trying on the fly there, but never got around to it, maybe next year :D
