Tough fishing this time of year, but what works best and is time of day and or water temperature important for trout. Or perhaps I am going for the wrong fish

I've done well recently with a sinking line and deerhair gomphus...irregular strip-pause retrieve....hits are solid

where are you fishing? I seem to have the best luck early morn and right before sundown when its really hot.

Yellow Lake, Osprey Lake and Allendale, but normally 10am-3pm.

you need to go deep like 20-30 foot in yellow troll willow w/wedding band ..flys'll hit in the morning and later like 7pm black or yellow bugger or doc sinking line always the lower lakes really slow down ...i do alota bass fishing in heat waves vaseux,skaha (bass,sunfish,perch,carp,catfish,squas and ur odd trout)

Thanks for your help, I am sure we will meet on a lake one day. I trolled all day Tuesday on Yellow, a fly on one line and various colors of wedding band on the other, sometimes with weight and sometimes without.
Caught a 14" trout on the fly, and somebodies willow leaf and wedding band on the other. It was in the shallows, west end south side. Tell me the color of the wedding band and you can hve it back........lol

fished yellow lake last week for 3 days at the east end for a few hours each day, normaly between 7am and 10am
I hadgreat success with a slow troll (in the fish cat) with sinking line and a black leech
