Topic: Gibsons/Keats area What to fish for? |

I was trying for salmon near Gibsons - "salmon rock" and Pasley Island. We caught everything but salmon. Rock cod, Halibut, mud shark and yes a starfish all tossed back. Seriously.... I was using anchovy and herring for bait.
I am going back this weekend, any suggestions?
We trolled,drift mooched and somebody even casted off the boat.
I am obviously new at this.

I remember catching sea run cutthroat off of the gibson shoreline and plumpers cove, and catching coho and chum at langdale creek mouth and roberts creek mouth. If I were you i would troll off robert creek mouth with an anchovy.

Unless you're really knowledgeable/lucky there's very little to catch in that area hasn't been for 20+ years now.
Maybe buy a bigger boat/invest in some electric downriggers and a GPS so you can head further afield.
