what kind of fly should i use just after the ice is off ?

That is like asking what will the weather will be like on Sept 15th 2017. It's a crap shoot. Conditions will have a huge impact. If there is a hatch going on, if it is cool, if it's hot will all change things. I would go with Mayfly, black leech, shrimp, glass worm and chironomids would be your top 5.
