I am a retired person who has always wanted to fish in B.C. I have 20ft, Hewescraft welded aluminum boat, with down riggers, chart plotter, etc. I also have a 30 ft mobile home that I use to haul the boat. Can anybody refer me to a place where I might get maps of B.C. showing camp grounds, ramps, marina's? Also what licensing do I need and where do I get it? What is used for bait? Thanks in advance for any info you might be able to send to me.

you can buy the freshwater one online here: http://www.fishing.gov.bc.ca/
and the tidal one from here: http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/rec/fresh-douce/region2-eng.htm
as for bait, you can try powerbait, shrimp, roe, worms, etc

Are you wanting to fish fresh water or salt water?
Are you wanting to stay around Vancouver?
How far are you willing to drive?

you sound like you are suited to shuswap lake. you have to have special tags to keep fish and then there are striict restricions and only 5 fish / yr but you can catch fish and your boat would be perfect. lots of resorts etc to park your self. look near anglemont for resorts to stay at,

Hi Ken...it sounds to me that u may be out of Province...if so I would suggest picking up a copy of the "Backroad map book"....published by Musio Ventures...There are a few different versions...I would suggest to you that the Kamloops region and surrounding areas would be good. There are MANY lakes in that neck of the woods. I would also suggest Fly Fishing or using flies as they seem to produce more and bigger fish...Tight lines and sore arms to you

yes flyfishing is the way to go but ken has a 20 ft boat which is not made for the small lakes or flyfishing. i suggest the big lakes are more suited for it.
