I have found a very good deal on a Lowrance x67c ice machine. To be able to use it in summertime, with my inflatable raft, I have to either purchase a portable skimmer (the one with a suction cup) or make a bracket that would hold the ice ducer along the raft. I would prefer to make the bracket; my boat will not speed more than 5km/h, so this is not a problem. Is there some other technical reason for having to use the skimmer in summertime? Does it really matter? Skimmers used as ice ducers are ok...
