Ive been playing around with some egg patterns

took a class at m & y fly shop, this was the best thing as a rookie. basic flies, but those are the ones you use all the time

yeah it s been a while for me to
been about 3 years i had my stuff put away but im happy to have it out now
and that s cool you went to a class Ive thought of it just for fun to meet other tier ,but Ive learned mostly on my own and books and online sites there`s a lot of cool 1`s out there that have free lessons and videos

i did this 1 fly swap we had to make a pattern with supplies we were sent
i got women s nylon`s and a blue ribbon and a hair net i tied them into a mosquito merger pattern
it turned out pretty cool but y i brought that up is i got a cool fly back in that swap that was made from shoe lace I`ll try and find it and post a pic of it
as for fly fishing it self you don`t need to even fly fish to use flies or tie them
they worked great being trolled
and when it s salmon season and if i want to use wool instead of tying on the wool river side i just tie up the wool on the hook at home what saves me time on the river
i also throw inn a little more than wool just for fun something like this
i was going for a peice of fish meat

flytyingforum is all the lesson`s and help a person needs to learn =) and there`s a lot of others as well on the web that have free lesson`s on vids

yeah it is fun for sure and there s a feeling of pride catching on your own flies as well
