Topic: Dragon Lake early '04 |

I want to fish Dragon Lake relatively early in the season in spring 04. The only time I've been there was almost mid-June. I ended up having one really good day, but having to work very hard for the fish all day long (13 fish in 12 hrs!). The next day was really poor. My partner did poorly both days, as did almost everyone else I saw or talked to. From what I've heard, it's not uncommon to do poorly by that time of the season. I have heard though, that earlier can be smokin'. Does anyone have advice on the timing of good early season fishing at Dragon?

Size 10 black ribbed chromie was the ticket the one day when noone seemed to be producing much. You had to fish it very still though. Any movement at all and it was a lost cause. When the fish would strike the indicator almost looked like a raindrop hit it! It was funny, but if you struck when 'the raindrop' hit, a fish would be there. I'm not sure if this is typical up there. I've talked to a few guys that swear by moving their chiro's. That's fishing though, one day one thing, the next day another. Maybe we'll see ya there. Good luck in any case.
