Well apparently it does, anything with a motor, (I wonder if I took my electric razor?). Anyone with a hobby boat, one of those with radio control... they could not mean.... could they.

And the good news is that you can do it on-line and it has to be supervised.

To be approved as a test Supervisor:
* You must be at least 18 years of age * You must legally agree to BOATsmart! Canada’s Supervisor Rules and Procedures * You CANNOT be related to the person taking the exam. You cannot be the child, grandchild, sibling, husband, wife, parent, or grandparent of the person taking the exam. * You DO NOT require a Pleasure Craft Operator Card * You DO NOT require boating experience * Supervisor registration is FREE
Hope this makes it a little easier.

The test shouldn't be easy! The online exam is a waste of time and does nothing to teach boat operators the correct and life saving ways to be on the water. I recommend that you should take the course through Continuing Ed. It is only a couple of hours. There are too many operators out there that don't know the rules of the water. It is better to be safe, know what you are doing and be able to fish another day.

One complete crock of s**t program brought to you from your federal goverment, just another cash cow for Ottawa. Estimated 12 million boat owners in Canada at $50.00 a shot, wow thats another great idea, just like gun registry. There is no rhyme or reason why a person with a 12' tinny & 6 hp motor should be forced to pay for this, and I would like to know how much taxpayers money will be wasted to enforce the program - spot checks at every lake?? Good luck!!

Use the discount Code: CMK524 at boatsmartexam.com to get $10 off
As for the online exams and everything - it is actually rather convenient, but you will spend a lot more then 2 hours to learn the material on your own.
BTW, you only pay once - then you can try again at no additional cost.
