Ah Beak your at it again this year. I have no beef with what you say, you are right about the flossing.
But with that said, ill get to another issue. The issue is that i have been fishing pretty hard on the fraser lately and i have seen a few sockeye jump but i havent even hooked into one fish. So i believe that DFO isnt lying about the the low amount of sockeye.
There seem to be alot of huge springs jumping and rolling over. I have been bouncing up from Pegleg. I think i might switch to bar fishing with spin and glo and roe.

Thanks for sharing some wisdom Cagey, and ya that water is reaching a high temp. I have been fishing the fraser alot lately and im going to head out to scale or seabird all day monday. I have been seeing many SEALS this year in the river and found a sweet 30+ lbs spring dead on the river with just its neck bite out a few days ago. Very strange ????? I hear that guys are doing well high up the river by herling island and scale.

Nice one fishingforlife LOL. Ya im not going to say im not a snagger. Im not a sport fisherman, I have one goal when i get up at 3:00am and hit the river. Its get my limit to bring home to my family for the winter. Doesnt matter how i get it, as long as i stay in the regs, respect the people around me, and clean up after myself. Sometimes it take a spoon or two, mabey some roe, or a little bouncing. We have all heard the whining before and its really simple to stop bouncing. Make a law that the leader line is not to be longer then 24 inches on any river. Simple as that, and ill still get my fish. Roe works WONDERS.

I was watching the news today, and they said they were expecting upwards of 13 million sockeye salmon to return, and so far there has been less than 2 million. They said there will be no open season fore sockeye this year.
