Hi Guys,
I’m thinking of taking my son up to Whistler to do some fishing, and was wondering if anyone can recommend a Lake that is easily accessible by car and has good shore fishing spots.
I have heard that Alta Lake is a great choice, but I also heard that it’s a catch and release only lake and has bait restrictions? can anyone verify.

Yes, you need to check the regulations if you are not sure.
It's available here.
ALTA LAKE = Release all fish; bait ban, single barbless hook; speed restriction (12 km/h)

You can try Garibaldi lake its rainbow trout is just amazing last time iwent there with my dad i caught a trout on a piece of leaf lol.
It's close to squamish but it's a 10km hike up hill to get to the lake but its worth it.

There are many fishable lakes all around the whistler/blackcomb area that do not require hiking. Drop in the local tackle store and get an area map. The issue right now will be the heat, so early morning or around dusk will be the best times of day.
